“To walk in the street” replies Soha and then she opens the door and gets

out. Tamer stands up, walks towards the door, opens it and shouts at Soha with a loud voice while she is stepping downstairs:

“Which street?” asks Tamer. “Any street, I did not decide yet!” replies Soha.

“Then we well tell everyone that we do not know where you go” shouts Tamer. “Ask my mother and she knows where I go” replies Soha. Tamer returns to his room.

The telephone rings and Tamer comes out of his room:

“Can I speak to Miss Soha, Please?” asks a male voice.

“She is not here and we do not know where she goes” replies Tamer in an angry voice and then he shuts the phone headset strongly and then returns to his room.

The telephone rings and the father comes out of the dining room to answer:

“Hello Eman, how are you and how are your kids?” asks the father.

“Yes, of course, I can buy it for you much cheaper”

[At the same time, Soha comes in from the front door. The father is directed to the audience and cannot see her]:

“Soha? We do not know where she goes and she sleeps outside doors at night” says the father “Yes, I will tell her, goodbye”.

The father ends the call and sits in the reception (4). Soha becomes mad and stands in front of him:

“How come you tell my cousin that I go out without your knowledge and

sleeps outside home at night? How come, father?” shouts Soha with a loud voice from anger. Her mother comes out quickly from the dining room:

“What has happened?” asks the mother anxiously.

“My father told Eman that I am going out without telling you and that I sleep outside home at night” explains Soha with a loud voice while pointing by her stretched arms.

“And so, what has happened?” replies the mother with a low voice “Nothing has happened, this is nonsense” says the mother. Soha enters her room. Her mother returns to the dining room. The father follows her.

The bell rings and the father comes out of the dining room and opens the door. He welcomes a carpenter who comes to fix the window of the reception. The father is supervising him. Soha comes out of her room covering her hairs:

“Aslamo alikom” Soha greets them and walks to the kitchen.

Soha comes out of the kitchen and hears her father talking to the carpenter without noticing her:

“This is my daughter. She is a teacher. She is refusing to marry and she is going out without our knowledge” says the father.

Soha is looking for something below the pillows. The carpenter stares in Soha for a long time as if he is looking for an affair. Soha returns to her room. The carpenter finishes his work and gets out. The father enters the dining room.

Soha comes out of her room holding a book and walks to the balcony. She

sits and then she walks to the kitchen to make a cup of tea. Tamer comes out of his room and arranges the pillows of the reception and then the pillows of the balcony. He finds Soha’s book and throws it from the balcony and then he returns to his room. Soha returns to the balcony with a cup of tea. She looks for her book under the pillow, in the reception, in the kitchen, and in her room, but she could not find it. She looks out from the balcony and finds her book. She goes downstairs from the stage and picks it up. She walks to her room and leaves the book. She comes out and walks to and fro in front of the audience while her head is looking down. She is depressed. She turns her head and looks to the audience:

“He threw my book from the balcony” says Soha to herself “He does not respect me! Can he throw Noha’s book? No, of course. She used to quarrel with him every day in the past, now he respects her. All the time I thought my sister is wrong and I am right because I am kind and easy going. Now for the first time I realize that she is right and I am wrong. I should confront him from now and then. I should do what I never did before in my life ” says Soha to herself and then she enters her room.

Soha comes out of her room holding a towel and then she enters the bathroom. She returns to her room holding the towel. She comes out again from her room and sits in the reception. She stands and arranges the pillow behind her. After a moment, she walks to the audience:

“What am I doing?” asks Soha herself while she is walking to and fro. “I never considered obeying his orders before, but now I do! I am afraid from confronting him and I am trying to avoid it as much I can! My sister always

respects his orders but I never did” says Soha and then she enters her room.

The mother comes out of the dining room and lies down in front of the TV (3 , 4 , 5 ). Soha comes out of her room and sits beside her (1):        “Everything is OK, Soha?” asks the mother.

“Everything is OK, mother” replies Soha.

Tamer comes in from the front door and sits with them (2):

“What’s up, Tamer” asks the mother while he is sitting:

“Nothing” replied Tamer “They came and watched the flat and asked to pay only 2000. I tried to raise the rent but they refused and went away” says Tamer in a loud and depressed voice as if he is crying “Everyone comes goes away” says Tamer.

“He is anxious because he had to rent his furnished flat very soon, mother” says Soha in a quiet voice. Soha receives a strong slap on her right thigh. The mother sits on at once and looks at them for a moment and then she turns her face to the TV:

“It is not your business” explains Tamer. Soha stands up quietly. She walks two steps away from Tamer, and then she turns to face him:

“Yes, you are anxious because you cannot do anything” says Soha in a quit and low voice “You know nothing and you cannot do anything. You do not even know how to speak. You depend on us in nearly everything. The only thing you are clever in is shouting and pouring your rage on us” says Soha while counting on her fingers. Tamer holds a glass of water from the table in

front of him and pours the water on her face. The mother stands up quickly:

“What Tamer? What then?” says the mother in an angry but low voice.

“Do not you hear mother what she said?” asks Tamer in a loud and angry voice while extending both his arms towards Soha and bending his head forwards “Why does she interfere?”.

“You hit her” replies the mother.

“She is the beginner mother not me” replies Tamer. Soha stands watching them in silence and then she returns to her room. Tamer enters his room and the mother returns to the dining room.

The mother comes out of the dining room and sits to watch the TV (3). The father follows her (2). Soha comes out of her room and sits with them (5). Tamer comes in from the front door and sits with them (1):

“Everything is OK, Tamer?” asks the mother friendly.

“I could not reach the towers, mother” says Tamer in a loud and angry voice as if he is crying “I searched for the towers everywhere but I could not find them”.

“How come a man living in our town for forty years and cannot reach the towers?” asks Soha in a quiet and low voice.

“How come” “You are forty years old and the tower can be seen from anywhere!” says Soha.

Tamer holds a glass of water from the table in front of him and pours the

water on Soha’s face. Everybody stands up and the father stands in between them to protect Soha:

“What Tamer, what then?” says the father in a loud voice.                            “Do not you hear, father? Do not you hear what she said?” explains Tamer in a loud voice while pointing to her. The mother and Soha are watching them while the father is talking to Tamer and moving him backwards:

“You should speak to her and not to me” says Tamer in a lower but angry voice. He flexes his arms in front of his mouth as if he is reading from an invisible paper. His head and back is curved as if he is begging his father:

“She should not talk to me like this. You should blame her and not me” says Tamer. Everybody enters his room.

Soha comes out of her room and sits in the reception (1). Tamer comes out of his room and walks towards her. Tamer’s trouser is open and a part of his underwear is seen. He is keeping his trouser from falling down. He crawls towards Soha with a shy smile on his face:

“Please Soha, I want you to give me an injection” says Tamer with a friendly and low voice while giving her a syringe. Soha take the syringe and gives him the injection while he is standing in front of her. Tamer thanks her and takes the syringe. He returns to his room.

The mother comes out of the dining room and sits with her (4):

“We do not want to destroy him” says the mother in a low and depressed voice. Her back is bent forward and she is looking downwards while resting both her hands on the couch. The mother returns to the dining room. Soha

stands up and walks towards the audience:

“Destroying him? What about destroying me?” asks Soha while pointing with both her hands to her chest “What really had happened is that my brother changed completely after that day. He stopped shouting at home or bothering me. He became quite, wise, kind and supportive” Soha enters her room.

The mother comes out of the dining room and sits in the balcony. Tamer comes out of his room and sits with her. Soha comes out of her room and sits with them: “I cannot pass the exam, mother. I cannot study anymore” says Soha to her mother in a sad and hopeless voice.

“Yes, you can” says both the mother and Tamer at the same time while bending forwards towards Soha.

“I cannot, I cannot bear to study anymore” replies Soha.

“You can, Soha” replies Tamer.

“I cannot study, I just cannot” says Soha with a hopeless voice.

“You can pass the exam, Soha” says the mother “Do not be disparate, just study hard and you will succeed”. The mother returns to the dining room and Tamer follows her. Soha walks towards the audience:

“Apparently my brother was ashamed from himself when his youngest sister criticizes him for the first time. Nobody in the family dared to criticize him before. We were treating him as a patient but he needed to be treated as a person. I am proud that I played an important role in my family” says soha and then she kisses both her hands and sends the kisses to the audience.
